Description
A simple and delicious fudge made with just five ingredients, combining the rich flavors of chocolate and peanut butter.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup of dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8 inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
- Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and maple syrup (or honey). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- Mix in peanut butter: Once the chocolate is melted, add the creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract to the bowl. Stir until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
- Layer the fudge: Pour half of the chocolate-peanut butter mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Drizzle the remaining mixture over the top and swirl gently with a knife or toothpick.
- Sprinkle with sea salt: Lightly sprinkle sea salt over the top of the fudge for added flavor and a touch of elegance.
- Freeze: Place the baking dish in the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm and set.
- Cut and serve: Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang and cut into neat squares.
Notes
- For a nut-free version, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter or any other nut-free spread.
- Use dairy-free chocolate chips to make the fudge vegan.
- Maple syrup can be replaced with agave syrup or brown rice syrup for a different flavor profile.
