- 1 loaf of bread (preferably brioche or challah)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the bread by cutting it into cubes and placing them in a greased baking dish.
- Mix the softened cream cheese with half of the sugar until smooth and spread it over the bread cubes.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, remaining sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt, then pour it over the bread and cream cheese layers.
- Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30 minutes covered, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
