Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced or in balls
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup balsamic reduction (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
- Black pepper to taste (optional)
- Sea salt to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and dry the strawberries, then slice them into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
- If using large mozzarella, slice into similar-sized rounds. If using mozzarella balls, drain and pat them dry.
- On a serving platter, alternate layers of strawberry slices and mozzarella.
- Drizzle balsamic reduction generously over the top. Optionally drizzle olive oil.
- Season with black pepper and sea salt, and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use vegan mozzarella or seasoned tofu for a dairy-free version.
- Substitute olive oil with avocado or grapeseed oil if preferred.
- Replace strawberries with peaches or nectarines for a seasonal variation.
- Try a citrus vinaigrette in place of balsamic reduction for a zesty flavor.
