Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in chilled butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until mixture resembles coarse crumbs (pea-sized butter pieces).
- Stir in sprinkles, then place the bowl in the fridge to keep butter cold.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together cream, egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using).
- Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Pat dough into a 1.5-inch thick circle on the prepared baking sheet. Freeze for 1–2 hours uncovered.
- Slice dough into 8 triangles, brush tops with extra heavy cream.
- Bake for 20–22 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool slightly on a wire rack and enjoy!
