Description
Caramelized Brown Sugar Cinnamon Grilled Pineapple is a warm and juicy tropical dessert that combines ripe pineapple with sweet brown sugar and fragrant cinnamon, enhanced by grilling for a smoky, caramelized finish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe pineapple
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)
- A pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Peel the pineapple, remove the ends and eyes, then slice into 1-inch thick rings or wedges.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Brush the pineapple slices with vegetable or coconut oil to prevent sticking.
- Coat each pineapple slice thoroughly with the brown sugar cinnamon mixture.
- Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
- Grill the pineapple for 4-5 minutes on each side, until grill marks appear and it becomes tender and caramelized.
- Remove from grill, let cool slightly, and serve warm. Optionally, drizzle with more brown sugar mixture.
Notes
- Use coconut sugar or maple syrup for a lower-glycemic sweetener.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for a spiced variation.
- Top with chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for added crunch.
- Pairs wonderfully with a scoop of dairy-free or regular ice cream.
