Description

Caramel Apple Grapes are a fun and bite-sized treat where juicy grapes are coated in rich, buttery homemade caramel. They offer a nostalgic twist on classic caramel apples with a burst of fruity freshness and the option for creative toppings like nuts, chocolate, or sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of fresh grapes (red or green)
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, chocolate, sea salt, or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Wash the grapes thoroughly and pat them completely dry using a paper towel.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and butter. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a light boil and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes without stirring, until golden brown.
  4. Slowly add the heavy cream while stirring vigorously. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble. Stir in the vanilla extract and pinch of salt.
  5. Remove the caramel from heat and let it cool slightly. Use a toothpick or skewer to dip each grape into the caramel, letting excess drip off.
  6. Place coated grapes on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If using toppings, add them while the caramel is still warm.
  7. Refrigerate the caramel-coated grapes for 30 minutes to 1 hour until the caramel sets. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Ensure grapes are fully dry before coating to help caramel stick.
  • Be careful when adding cream to hot caramel—it will bubble rapidly.
  • Try different fruits like strawberries or apple chunks for variation.
  • Use vegan butter and coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
  • Add toppings immediately after dipping while caramel is still sticky.
