Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients with the buttermilk and cooled chai tea, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
