- 1 cup (4 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (2 oz) grated Parmesan cheese
- 3/4 cup (90 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk flour, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, combine mozzarella and Parmesan. Add egg and milk, stirring until blended.
- Gradually fold in the flour mixture until a thick dough forms.
- Shape tablespoonfuls of dough into balls and place on a parchment-lined tray.
- Heat 1 inch of oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry bites in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden.
- Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Maintain oil temperature to avoid greasy bites.
- For gluten-free, use a GF flour blend.
- To make vegan, use a flax egg and dairy-free cheeses.
- Add chopped basil or chili flakes for extra flavor.
- Serve with marinara or ranch dipping sauce.
