  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until glossy and combined.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. Slowly add the warmed milk and salt, mixing until fully combined. The batter will be thin.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted into the top layer comes out mostly clean.
  7. Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing. This allows the layers to set properly.
