Description

These Chocolate Mint Cookies are rich, chewy, and infused with refreshing peppermint flavor. Packed with chocolate chips and optional crushed mint candies, they are the perfect treat for holiday baking or mint lovers any time of the year.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 cup crushed mint candies or peppermint candies (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in peppermint extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and crushed mint candies (if using).
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between cookies.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
