Description

Chocolate sorbet is a refreshing and elegant frozen dessert made with rich cocoa and a smooth, airy texture. It’s perfect for chocolate lovers looking for a dairy-free and indulgent treat that can be enjoyed any time of year.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (100 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) dairy-free chocolate milk (or regular)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the water, granulated sugar, and unsweetened cocoa powder over medium heat until the sugar fully dissolves.
  2. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
  3. Let the mixture cool for 5 minutes. Then whisk in the chocolate milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a bowl or jug, cover with plastic wrap touching the surface, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully chilled.
  5. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn for 20–30 minutes, or until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  6. Transfer to an airtight container, smooth the top, and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For deeper flavor, add a teaspoon of espresso powder.
  • For a spicy twist, add a pinch of chili powder or cayenne.
  • Use almond or oat milk for a fully vegan version.
  • Chill the base thoroughly before churning for best results.
