Description

Cinnamon Swirl Apple Bread is a moist and flavorful loaf packed with tender apple chunks and a rich cinnamon-sugar swirl. Perfect for fall mornings or cozy afternoons, this easy quick bread is finished with a light glaze for extra sweetness.

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped
  • Powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 2/3 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup softened butter until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Stir until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Top with half the apples and half the cinnamon-sugar mix. Add remaining batter, then top with the remaining apples and cinnamon-sugar. Swirl gently with a knife.
  6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For glaze, mix powdered sugar with a little milk until smooth and drizzle over the cooled bread.
