- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup salted sweet cream butter, melted and cooled
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 1/2 cups sweetened coconut flakes
- 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for coconut layer)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (for coconut layer)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper and spray lightly with nonstick spray.
- In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, cocoa powder, and 1/4 tsp salt. Toss chocolate chips with 1 tsp flour in a separate bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread half the batter in the dish. Mix coconut flakes, condensed milk, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1/4 tsp salt. Spread coconut mixture over brownie layer. Top with remaining batter.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

- For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free baking flour blend.
- Substitute butter with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
- Use unsweetened coconut for a less sweet version and add a bit more sugar to the batter.
