Description
A delightful dish that bursts with flavor, featuring a creamy sauce infused with fresh cilantro and zesty lime.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs or 680 g)
- 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup lime juice (about 2–3 limes)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds, then add chicken broth and lime juice, scraping up browned bits.
- Stir in heavy cream and chopped cilantro, simmering for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over it, and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Plate the chicken, drizzle with sauce, and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- Swap chicken breasts for thighs for a juicier option.
- Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian-friendly alternative.
- For a dairy-free option, try coconut cream.
