- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup milk
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined and pour into the dry ingredients.
- Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips and halved fresh cherries.
- Line a muffin tin with paper liners and fill each cup about three-quarters full with the batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Let cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Store muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
- For longer storage, freeze muffins wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in a freezer bag for up to three months.
- Reheat in the microwave for a few seconds before serving.
