Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 packet (0.13 oz) Kool-Aid powder (any flavor)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Lollipop sticks
- Candy thermometer
- Silicone mold or lollipop molds
Instructions
- Prepare your work area by setting up lollipop molds and inserting sticks. Lightly grease silicone molds if using.
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add Kool-Aid powder and stir until fully dissolved. Slowly sprinkle in baking soda and stir carefully as the mixture fizzes.
- Increase heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature and cook until it reaches 300°F (150°C).
- Remove from heat immediately and pour the mixture into prepared molds. Let sit a few minutes before inserting lollipop sticks.
- Allow to cool completely for 30–45 minutes until hardened.
- Carefully remove the lollipops from the molds. Twist gently if they stick. Store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Always use a candy thermometer for accuracy.
- Don’t skip the baking soda—it’s what creates the fizz.
- Mix Kool-Aid flavors for fun twists.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture.
