Instructions
- Scoop 4 large balls of vanilla ice cream and place them on a parchment-lined tray. Cover and freeze for at least 2 hours until firm.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, cinnamon (if using), and salt. In another bowl, whisk the cold water and egg together, then combine with dry ingredients to form a smooth, thick batter.
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip each frozen ice cream ball into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Fry each coated ice cream ball in hot oil for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with cinnamon sugar if desired, top with whipped cream, chocolate or caramel sauce, chopped nuts, and a cherry. Serve immediately.
