Description
Delicious fudgy hot cocoa cookies that are soft, chewy, and perfect for winter nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips, semi-sweet or dark
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers still look slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- For freezing, place cookies in a single layer on a baking sheet until firm, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag.
- Reheat cookies in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds to restore fudgy texture.
