Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast and let sit until frothy.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients by whisking together flour and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients by adding the yeast mixture and melted butter to the flour mixture, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the loaf by punching down the dough, rolling it into a log, and sealing the seams.
  7. Let the shaped loaf rise in a greased pan for 30-45 minutes until it rises above the rim.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
  10. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
