Description

Honey Walnuts Cups are a sweet and nutty dessert made with chopped walnuts, honey, and a soft buttery dough. They offer a delightful mix of textures, from a crisp exterior to a chewy, nut-filled center, perfect for teatime or special occasions.

  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
  3. Add the egg, honey, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts evenly.
  7. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough into each muffin cup, filling them about 3/4 full.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve plain or drizzle with extra honey if desired.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, use flaxseed meal or applesauce instead of egg and replace honey with agave syrup.
  • Add cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth and flavor.
