- 2 tbsp lemon juice (from about 1/2 lemon)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp lemon juice (for glaze)
- Additional lemon zest for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in lemon zest and lemon juice until fully incorporated.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the brownies cool, whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice to make the glaze. Adjust juice amount for desired consistency.
- Once brownies are cool, spread glaze evenly over the top. Garnish with extra lemon zest if desired.
- Let the glaze set, then slice into squares and serve.
