Description

Limoncello Tiramisu is a bright and citrusy twist on the classic Italian dessert, combining layers of lemon-soaked ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone filling, and luscious lemon curd. It’s a refreshing and elegant no-bake dessert perfect for warm-weather gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 pound mascarpone cheese
  • 2 teaspoons finely grated lemon zest (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 (7-ounce) boxes ladyfingers (about 48)
  • 2 1/2 cups store-bought lemonade
  • 1 1/2 cups limoncello (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 1/2 cups lemon curd (homemade or store-bought), divided

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream and confectioners’ sugar with a mixer until medium peaks form. Do not over-whip.
  2. In another bowl, mix mascarpone, lemon zest, and kosher salt until combined.
  3. Fold one-third of the whipped cream into the mascarpone to lighten it, then fold in the rest until fully combined.
  4. In a shallow dish, mix lemonade and limoncello. Dip each ladyfinger briefly (1 second per side) into the mixture.
  5. Line a 13″ x 9″ pan with a layer of dipped ladyfingers (2 rows of 12).
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
  7. Spoon 1 cup of lemon curd over the mascarpone layer and gently spread.
  8. Repeat the dipping process and place another layer of ladyfingers.
  9. Spread the remaining 1/2 cup lemon curd over the second layer of ladyfingers.
  10. Transfer remaining mascarpone cream to a piping bag and pipe dollops on top.
  11. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
  12. Before serving, garnish with thinly sliced lemon zest.

Notes

  • Use gluten-free ladyfingers for a gluten-free version.
  • Dairy-free alternatives like coconut cream and non-dairy mascarpone can be used.
  • Try different fruit curds like raspberry or passion fruit for a twist.
  • Over-soaking the ladyfingers will cause them to become too soggy; quick dips are best.
  • Letting the tiramisu chill overnight enhances the flavor and texture.
