Description

Mango Three Milks, or Tres Leches de Mango, is a tropical twist on the classic Tres Leches cake, combining a moist sponge soaked in three types of milk with a vibrant mango topping for a rich and refreshing dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk (for batter)
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sugar (if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and sugar. In another bowl, cream butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour mixture and milk until smooth. Pour into the pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream until well combined.
  5. Remove the cooled cake from the pan. Poke holes all over the top with a fork or toothpick. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  6. Peel and dice mangoes. Toss with lime juice and sugar, let sit for 10 minutes.
  7. Top the soaked cake with the mango mixture just before serving. Serve chilled and enjoy.

Notes

  • Let the cake sit overnight for best flavor absorption.
  • Coconut cream can be used for a dairy-free variation.
  • Try other fruits like peaches or strawberries as toppings.
  • Add a dash of cardamom or cinnamon for an extra flavor twist.
