Description
Mini French toast sticks are a delightful treat that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 slices of bread (preferably thick-cut, such as brioche or Texas toast)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
- Maple syrup or powdered sugar (for serving)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- Take the slices of bread and cut them into thirds to create mini sticks.
- Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
- In a skillet, melt a little butter over medium heat and cook the coated bread sticks until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Notes
- Don’t soak the bread too long; it can become soggy.
- Make sure your skillet is hot enough before adding the sticks.
- Use enough butter to prevent sticking.
