Description

Mini French toast sticks are a delightful treat that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices of bread (preferably thick-cut, such as brioche or Texas toast)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • Maple syrup or powdered sugar (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Take the slices of bread and cut them into thirds to create mini sticks.
  3. Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. In a skillet, melt a little butter over medium heat and cook the coated bread sticks until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Notes

  • Don’t soak the bread too long; it can become soggy.
  • Make sure your skillet is hot enough before adding the sticks.
  • Use enough butter to prevent sticking.
