Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup dark chocolate chunks
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt until well combined. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Fold in the dark chocolate chunks until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared skillet, spreading it evenly.
- Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly gooey.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool for about 5-10 minutes.
- Slice the skillet cookie into wedges and serve warm.
