Description

Orange Blossom Honey Drizzle Cake is a delightful dessert that combines the sweet, floral notes of orange blossom honey with a moist and fluffy cake texture.

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour – 2 cups (240 grams)
  • Baking powder – 2 teaspoons
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Unsalted butter – 1/2 cup (113 grams), softened
  • Granulated sugar – 1 cup (200 grams)
  • Eggs – 3 large
  • Whole milk – 1 cup (240 ml)
  • Orange zest – 2 tablespoons (from about 2 oranges)
  • Orange juice – 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Orange blossom honey – 1/2 cup (120 ml), plus extra for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.
  5. Add the whole milk, orange zest, orange juice, and orange blossom honey to the butter mixture. Mix on low speed until combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until no flour streaks remain.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, carefully turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once the cake is completely cooled, drizzle additional orange blossom honey over the top.
  10. Slice the cake and serve it as a delightful dessert or a sweet treat with tea or coffee.
