- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it with cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, ground cardamom, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, fresh orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently fold the mixture together using a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- In a small bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon for the crumb topping. Add the cold, cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Divide the muffin batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full. Sprinkle the crumb topping generously over each muffin.
- Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the tin for about 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
