Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices bread (thick cut preferred for best results)
- 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Spread peanut butter on one side of each of the four slices of bread.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the peanut butter on two of the slices.
- Top the sugared slices with the remaining two slices, peanut butter side down, to form two sandwiches.
- In an 8-inch square pan, whisk together the eggs and milk until fully combined.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.
- Place the sandwiches in the hot skillet and cook for about 2 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use gluten-free bread to make it gluten-free.
- Almond or sunflower seed butter can replace peanut butter for allergy-friendly options.
- Substitute dairy milk with any plant-based milk like almond, oat, or soy.
- Try adding a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract to the egg mixture for extra flavor.
- Drizzle with maple syrup or honey for a finishing touch.
