Description
Poppy Seed Fruit Salad is a refreshing and colorful medley of fresh fruits tossed in a creamy, sweet-tart dressing with a hint of crunch from poppy seeds. It’s perfect for summer gatherings, potlucks, or as a healthy dessert option.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced
- 2 fresh kiwi, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup grapes, halved (red or green)
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 cup whipped topping or yogurt (dairy-free options acceptable)
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Rinse strawberries, blueberries, and grapes. Hull and slice strawberries, dice pineapple, peel and slice kiwi, and slice banana. Halve grapes and ensure all fruit is cut into bite-sized pieces.
- In a separate bowl, combine whipped topping or yogurt with honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, and poppy seeds. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, gently combine all the fruits. Pour the dressing over the fruits.
- Using a spatula, gently fold the dressing into the fruit until evenly coated without smashing the fruit.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Stir gently before serving.
Notes
- Use dairy-free whipped topping or yogurt for a vegan version.
- Swap honey with maple syrup or agave for a vegan-friendly sweetener.
- Add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
- Include additional fruits like mango or raspberries for variation.
- Serve chilled for best flavor and texture.
