Description

Poppy Seed Fruit Salad is a refreshing and colorful medley of fresh fruits tossed in a creamy, sweet-tart dressing with a hint of crunch from poppy seeds. It’s perfect for summer gatherings, potlucks, or as a healthy dessert option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced
  • 2 fresh kiwi, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup grapes, halved (red or green)
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 cup whipped topping or yogurt (dairy-free options acceptable)
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Rinse strawberries, blueberries, and grapes. Hull and slice strawberries, dice pineapple, peel and slice kiwi, and slice banana. Halve grapes and ensure all fruit is cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine whipped topping or yogurt with honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, and poppy seeds. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine all the fruits. Pour the dressing over the fruits.
  4. Using a spatula, gently fold the dressing into the fruit until evenly coated without smashing the fruit.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Stir gently before serving.

Notes

  • Use dairy-free whipped topping or yogurt for a vegan version.
  • Swap honey with maple syrup or agave for a vegan-friendly sweetener.
  • Add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
  • Include additional fruits like mango or raspberries for variation.
  • Serve chilled for best flavor and texture.
