Red Velvet Cookie Dough is a soft, creamy, eggless treat with a hint of cocoa and a vibrant red color. This indulgent dough is safe to eat raw and perfect for satisfying cookie cravings without baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring (or more for desired color)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla extract and red food coloring to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture while mixing on low speed. Mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed.
  6. (Optional) Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for a firmer texture.
  7. Scoop the dough into small servings using a cookie scoop or tablespoon and serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

  • Heat-treat flour by baking at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes to make it safe to eat raw.
  • For a vegan version, substitute butter with coconut oil and use plant-based sugars and chocolate chips.
  • Customize with white chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or food coloring variations for themed treats.
  • Can be frozen for up to 3 months in portioned scoops and thawed before serving.
