Description
A delightful dish that combines rich flavors and creamy textures, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 300 grams (10.5 oz) pasta (penne or rigatoni work well)
- 1 head of garlic
- 240 ml (1 cup) heavy cream
- 100 grams (1 cup) grated Parmesan cheese
- 200 grams (2 cups) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 50 grams (1/2 cup) breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt – to taste
- Black pepper – to taste
- Fresh parsley – for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the top off the head of garlic, drizzle with olive oil, and wrap it in foil. Roast for about 30-35 minutes until soft and golden.
- While the garlic is roasting, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Once the garlic is cool, squeeze the cloves into a bowl. Mash them with a fork. In a saucepan, combine the mashed garlic, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Heat over medium until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens.
- Mix the cooked pasta with the sauce in a large bowl. Pour the mixture into a baking dish. Top with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- If you’re lactose intolerant, try a dairy-free cream and nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free pasta.
- Consider adding vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition and flavor.
