Ingredients

  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 box (approximately 15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional, for added sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Toss the sliced apples with ground cinnamon and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl, then spread them in the baking dish.
  3. Drizzle half of the salted caramel sauce over the apples.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the apple and caramel layer without stirring.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and edges are bubbly.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes and drizzle the remaining salted caramel sauce over the top.
