Description

A delightful treat that combines juicy chicken with rich marinara sauce and gooey cheese, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 12 slider buns
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Place them in the slow cooker.
  2. Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  3. Remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker and shred them using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it with the marinara sauce.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half, brush the cut sides with olive oil, and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. On the bottom half of each toasted slider bun, place a generous amount of the shredded chicken and marinara mixture. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Place the assembled sliders back in the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove the sliders from the oven, add fresh basil leaves on top, place the top half of the buns on each slider, and serve warm.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
