Description
A delightful way to start your day with fluffy texture and savory flavors, perfect for breakfast or brunch gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sourdough starter (active and bubbly)
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (like rosemary or thyme)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- 1 cup diced vegetables (like bell peppers or cherry tomatoes)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water and sourdough starter. Stir until well mixed. Gradually add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a little more flour as needed.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking pan and spread the risen dough evenly. Use your fingers to create dimples in the surface. Sprinkle with herbs, cheese, and vegetables. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden brown on top and cooked through. Once done, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- For longer storage, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate.
- To reheat, pop in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
