Description
A delicious twist on a classic favorite, these Spicy Jalapeño Turkey Burgers are packed with flavor and are a healthier alternative to traditional beef burgers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1–2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, or spicy mayo
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix everything together until well combined, but be careful not to overmix.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty, making sure they are about 1 inch thick.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the burgers from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- Swap ground turkey for ground chicken or lean beef if preferred.
- Add spices like smoked paprika or chili powder for extra flavor.
- For a dairy-free option, skip cheese or use a plant-based alternative.
