Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Gently fold in the chopped strawberries and chocolate chips.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Decorate with frosting, fresh strawberries, and chocolate shavings as desired.
