Description

Strawberry donut holes are soft, fluffy, bite-sized treats bursting with fresh strawberry flavor and a hint of vanilla and almond. Topped with a sweet strawberry glaze, they are perfect for summer gatherings, brunches, or a cozy tea-time indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt or regular yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1/8 cup strawberries, pureed (about 3 big strawberries)
  • 23 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 24-cup mini muffin tin.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, milk, yogurt, egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until combined.
  4. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in chopped strawberries.
  5. Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling each about 1/2 to 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 7–8 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  7. Meanwhile, blend 1/8 cup strawberries into a puree. Mix puree with heavy cream and powdered sugar to make the glaze. Adjust sugar for desired thickness.
  8. Dip cooled donut holes into glaze, letting excess drip off. For thicker coating, let glaze set and dip again.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep donut holes soft.
  • Swap dairy with plant-based alternatives for a vegan version.
  • You can try different berries like raspberries or blueberries for variety.
  • Donut holes can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
