Description

Strawberry Dumplings are soft, fluffy treats filled with sweet, syrupy strawberries, making them a perfect dessert for summer gatherings or cozy family meals.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for strawberries)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for dough)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (or dairy-free substitute)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Hull and halve the strawberries, place them in a bowl, and toss with 1/4 cup sugar. Let sit for 15 minutes to release juices.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed into a thick, slightly lumpy dough.
  5. Bring a large pot of water to a gentle simmer.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering water, leaving space for expansion. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until dumplings float and are cooked through.
  7. Remove dumplings with a slotted spoon and place on a serving platter.
  8. Spoon strawberry syrup over the dumplings and serve warm. Optionally, top with whipped cream or powdered sugar.

  • Use almond or coconut milk and dairy-free butter for a vegan option.
