Description
A refreshing and fruity strawberry sorbet that blends the natural sweetness of fresh strawberries with a smooth, icy texture, perfect for hot summer days and suitable for dairy-free diets.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then quarter them into smaller pieces.
- Place strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle granulated sugar over them. Let sit for 15-20 minutes to draw out juices.
- Transfer strawberries and their juice to a blender or food processor. Add lemon juice and water.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more sugar or sweetener.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow freezer-safe dish and cover. Freeze for 2-3 hours.
- Remove from freezer, scrape and fluff with a fork to prevent ice crystals.
- Return to freezer for another 2-3 hours until firm before serving.
Notes
- Use agave nectar, maple syrup, or stevia as alternatives to granulated sugar for different dietary needs.
- Try other berries like raspberries, blueberries, or mixed berries for flavor variation.
- Lime or orange juice can replace lemon juice for a different citrus note.
