Description

A refreshing and fruity strawberry sorbet that blends the natural sweetness of fresh strawberries with a smooth, icy texture, perfect for hot summer days and suitable for dairy-free diets.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash and hull the strawberries, then quarter them into smaller pieces.
  2. Place strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle granulated sugar over them. Let sit for 15-20 minutes to draw out juices.
  3. Transfer strawberries and their juice to a blender or food processor. Add lemon juice and water.
  4. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more sugar or sweetener.
  6. Pour the mixture into a shallow freezer-safe dish and cover. Freeze for 2-3 hours.
  7. Remove from freezer, scrape and fluff with a fork to prevent ice crystals.
  8. Return to freezer for another 2-3 hours until firm before serving.

Notes

  • Use agave nectar, maple syrup, or stevia as alternatives to granulated sugar for different dietary needs.
  • Try other berries like raspberries, blueberries, or mixed berries for flavor variation.
  • Lime or orange juice can replace lemon juice for a different citrus note.
