Description

Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie is a rich, indulgent dessert that blends the nutty crunch of pecans with smooth chocolate in a flaky crust. A Southern classic with a decadent twist, this pie is perfect for holidays, family gatherings, or whenever you’re craving a comforting slice of sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate. Trim and prick the bottom with a fork. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs until lightly beaten. Add corn syrup, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips evenly.
  5. Pour the filling into the chilled pie crust.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes, until the filling is set at the edges but slightly jiggly in the center.
  7. Cool for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a deeper chocolate flavor, use Dutch-processed cocoa powder.
  • Dark or dairy-free chocolate chips work well for variations.
  • Chilling the crust helps prevent shrinking during baking.
  • Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
