Description

Vanilla Magic Custard Cupcakes are tender cupcakes that transform into three magical custard-like layers while baking. With a soft vanilla flavor and creamy texture, these cupcakes offer a rich yet airy dessert experience.


Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk (whole or alternative)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake tin with paper liners or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract to the egg mixture and mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently until combined.
  6. Slowly pour in the milk and stir until the batter is smooth. Batter will be thin.
  7. Pour the batter into the cupcake tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 30–40 minutes or until the tops are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Batter will be thinner than traditional cupcake batter; this is normal.
  • Cupcakes will form three layers: a dense base, custard center, and light top.
  • You can substitute vanilla with almond extract or add citrus zest for variety.
  • Use dairy-free butter and plant-based milk for a vegan option.
