A refreshing appetizer combining the sweetness of watermelon with creamy feta cheese, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh watermelon, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 large baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  2. In a bowl, combine the watermelon cubes, crumbled feta cheese, and chopped basil leaves. Gently toss to mix.
  3. Remove the bread from the oven and drizzle balsamic glaze over each toasted slice.
  4. Spoon the watermelon and feta mixture onto each slice of bread and finish with a sprinkle of salt. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store leftover mixture separate from the bread to maintain crispness.
  • Reheat bread in the oven to restore crunch.
