Air Fryer Protein Bagels

  • Author: Chef Bella
  • Total Time: 22 minutes

  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

These Air Fryer Protein Bagels are a healthy, high-protein, and low-carb alternative to traditional bagels. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they’re perfect for breakfast, snacks, or brunch and can be customized with various toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of protein powder (unflavored or vanilla)
  • 1 cup of almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of water (more if necessary)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, everything bagel seasoning, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the protein powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Add Greek yogurt and olive oil to the dry mixture and start mixing. Gradually add water until a dough forms. If it’s too dry, add more water one tablespoon at a time.
  3. Divide the dough into 4–6 equal portions. Shape each into a ball, poke a hole in the center, and gently stretch to form a bagel shape.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Brush each bagel with the beaten egg and sprinkle with desired toppings.
  5. Place bagels in the air fryer basket without touching. Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, use plant-based protein powder and dairy-free yogurt.
  • You can use oat flour or a gluten-free blend instead of almond flour for allergy-friendly alternatives.
  • Add garlic powder or herbs to enhance flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container for 2 days at room temp or freeze for up to 3 months.
