Description
These Air Fryer Protein Bagels are a healthy, high-protein, and low-carb alternative to traditional bagels. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they’re perfect for breakfast, snacks, or brunch and can be customized with various toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of protein powder (unflavored or vanilla)
- 1 cup of almond flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of water (more if necessary)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional toppings (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, everything bagel seasoning, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the protein powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Add Greek yogurt and olive oil to the dry mixture and start mixing. Gradually add water until a dough forms. If it’s too dry, add more water one tablespoon at a time.
- Divide the dough into 4–6 equal portions. Shape each into a ball, poke a hole in the center, and gently stretch to form a bagel shape.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Brush each bagel with the beaten egg and sprinkle with desired toppings.
- Place bagels in the air fryer basket without touching. Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a vegan version, use plant-based protein powder and dairy-free yogurt.
- You can use oat flour or a gluten-free blend instead of almond flour for allergy-friendly alternatives.
- Add garlic powder or herbs to enhance flavor.
- Store in an airtight container for 2 days at room temp or freeze for up to 3 months.
