Description
A delightful dessert that combines layers of fluffy cake, fresh berries, and creamy whipped topping, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup of fresh blueberries
- 2 cups of vanilla sponge cake, crumbled (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups of whipped cream (heavy cream, whipped with sugar)
- 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust based on sweetness preference)
- Mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the berries by washing them thoroughly, slicing the strawberries, and combining them with blueberries. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, whip 2 cups of heavy cream on medium speed until it thickens. Gradually add the remaining tablespoon of sugar and whip until soft peaks form.
- In clear glass cups or bowls, layer the ingredients starting with crumbled vanilla sponge cake, followed by the macerated berries, and topped with whipped cream. Repeat the layers until filled.
- Refrigerate the assembled trifles for at least 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with whole berries and mint leaves before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap, and consume within 2-3 days for optimal freshness.
- Freezing is not recommended as it can change the texture of the whipped cream and berries.
- For added flavor, consider macerating the berries with sugar before layering.
