Description
A delicious and comforting Dill Pickle Grilled Cheese Sandwich featuring gooey cheese and tangy dill pickles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices of sourdough bread
- 1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup of dill pickles, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Fresh dill for garnish
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients. Slice the dill pickles and shred the sharp cheddar cheese if not already done.
- Take one slice of sourdough bread and spread 1 tablespoon of butter evenly on one side. Repeat with the second slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, layer half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Add the dill pickle slices evenly over the cheese. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese, and place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
- Place a skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Carefully place the assembled sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy. Gently flip the sandwich over and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes, pressing down slightly to ensure even cooking.
- Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the skillet. Let it cool for a minute, then slice it in half diagonally. Garnish with fresh dill sprigs.
Notes
- Best served warm, cut into triangles for easy eating.
- Pairs well with a side of tomato soup or crispy potato chips.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
- Reheat in a skillet over low heat to avoid sogginess.
