Description
A delicious vegetarian version of the classic General Tso’s chicken using cauliflower.
Ingredients

- 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Coat cauliflower florets in cornstarch.
- Fry cauliflower in batches until golden brown, about 5 minutes per batch.
- In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour sauce over fried cauliflower and stir to coat.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh cauliflower for best results.
- Adjust spice level by adding more or fewer red pepper flakes.
- Serve with steamed rice for a complete meal.
