Description

Grilled Pineapple Beef Skewers are a delightful treat that combines the savory taste of beef with the sweet, juicy flavor of pineapple, perfect for summer barbecues and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 cups fresh pineapple, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 cup bell peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces (any color)
  • 1 medium red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • 46 skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes prior to grilling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper in a medium bowl.
  2. Marinate the beef by adding cubed beef sirloin to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).
  4. Assemble the skewers by threading beef cubes, pineapple chunks, bell pepper pieces, and red onion onto the skewers, alternating ingredients.
  5. Brush the assembled skewers lightly with olive oil.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness and the vegetables are tender.

Notes

  • For gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • For a sweeter flavor, consider adding honey instead of brown sugar.
  • Substitute beef for chicken or tofu for a vegetarian version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
  • Reheat in the microwave or on a grill for a few minutes until heated through.
