Description

Maple Oat Date Breakfast Bars are a delightful way to start your day, combining the natural sweetness of dates with the rich flavor of maple syrup and chewy oats for a nutritious breakfast or snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup almond butter (or any nut butter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine chopped pitted dates, maple syrup, almond butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sea salt. Mix until smooth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add rolled oats and pour the date mixture over them. Stir until fully combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan and press it firmly and evenly into the pan.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the top is set.
  6. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using the parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
  • Can be frozen for up to three months; wrap individually in plastic wrap before placing in a freezer bag.
