Description

This Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf Recipe combines the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak with the comforting texture of meatloaf, featuring juicy ground beef, sautéed onions, and peppers, topped with gooey cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup finely chopped bell peppers (mix of red and green)
  • 1 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for sautéing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped bell peppers and onions. Sauté until soft and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, sautéed bell peppers and onions, shredded provolone cheese, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, place slices in the microwave.
  • For freezing, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil; can be frozen for up to 3 months.
