Description
This Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf Recipe combines the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak with the comforting texture of meatloaf, featuring juicy ground beef, sautéed onions, and peppers, topped with gooey cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup finely chopped bell peppers (mix of red and green)
- 1 cup finely chopped onions
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for sautéing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped bell peppers and onions. Sauté until soft and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, sautéed bell peppers and onions, shredded provolone cheese, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, place slices in the microwave.
- For freezing, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil; can be frozen for up to 3 months.
