Description

Seafood gratin is a delightful dish that combines the rich flavors of seafood with a creamy, cheesy topping, perfect for special occasions or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 grams of fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 200 grams of scallops, cleaned
  • 150 grams of crab meat, lump or claw meat
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 250 ml of heavy cream
  • 150 grams of Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 100 grams of breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shrimp, scallops, crab meat, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in half of the grated Gruyère cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Pour the cream mixture over the seafood and gently fold until well coated.
  5. Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil and pour the seafood mixture into it, spreading evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the remaining Gruyère cheese and chopped parsley. Sprinkle over the seafood layer.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • For a dairy-free option, use coconut cream and dairy-free cheese.
  • Consider adding a splash of white wine to the sauce for richer flavor.
  • Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free option.
  • For a vegan version, substitute seafood with plant-based alternatives and use vegan cheese and cream.
